What happens if I get my data back via NAS device? How does it work?

The LiveVault media recovery option is well suited to larger data sets and emergency situations. The easiest way to understand how these works is to think of the NAS as a delivery mechanism, not a storage device.

The customer makes most of the decisions about how they want the restore to work (i.e. overwrite options, re-direct choices, file and directory selection, etc) BEFORE the NAS is built. This way, LiveVault is able to “package” the data on the NAS in a secure format that is extremely easy to restore from when delivered. The NAS also includes software that allows customers to decrypt the data and handle the restore rules (like overwrites or re-directs).
